Outside my window... it is cold and rainy. We had some snow flurries this morning.
I am thinking... about my daughter's engagement. They are meeting with our priest tomorrow to set the date and begin pre-marital classes. We were very surprised when they got engaged, and for a variety of reasons, have struggled a bit with the news. At first I didn't know what to think. But I have decided that I am going to support their marriage, instead of being against it. They will encounter enough hostility and naysayers in our anti-family culture, and after much prayer, I am deciding to let God be in charge of them. I am still feeling a bit nervous about this endeavor, but regardless, I will be here to pray for, support, and encourage their marriage journey.
I am thankful for... daily prayer.
From the schoolroom... Boyson and my husband built a computer together! We took a break from 'regular' school for a couple of days in order to have "computer science class." The computer is up and running!
From the kitchen... dinner at my mother-in-law's tonight; tacos for dinner tomorrow night.
I am wearing... jeans, a light blue hoodie, white t-shirt and flats.
I am creating... nothing really - just doing some craft prep for our last two Little Flowers meetings.
I am going... to go put this large red velvet cake that I bought at Costco today out in the garage refrigerator so that it will be out of my line of sight. I bought it so that my daughter could try it; she really wants to have red velvet cake at her wedding.
I am reading... My Name is Mary Sutter
I am hoping... that we are getting a tax refund this year and that we don't owe.
I am hearing... the dishwasher and Lil Guhl on the Wii.
Around the house... nothing new or noteworthy to report here. Just the usual laundry, dirty dishes, vacuuming and dusting.
One of my favorite things... stepping on the scale and seeing a lower number! I am officially down 5 pounds. It has been slow going because I have ZERO will power, but I am making progress, slowly, but surely.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
- Vet Class and Piano Lessons for Lil Guhl
- PE Class for Boyson
- Poultry Learning Day
Braces!

Hi Angela--I love checking your blog for updates! ...you mention Red Velvet. Just FYI Saint Cupcake in Portland makes a fabulous Red Velvet cupcake, and I know they do weddings. Also I know of a good baker (Hillsboro Market) that could do it...if your daughter wants to be really modern, I have a recipe for a red velvet whoopie pie... :o) Yum!! (can you tell I like desserts?) --Becky Curl
