My Daybook

FOR TODAY - July 12, 2011

Outside my window...
cool and rainy today.  We had a beautiful week last week, so it's okay to have an off day.  As long as it doesn't stay too long.

I am thinking...
about our camping menu.

I am thankful...
for a husband who works harder than any man I know.

From the school room..
summer break.  Even my plans for math fell to the wayside last week and this week is looking fairly busy too.

In the kitchen...
Tomorrow, I am making a meal to take to a friend who is battling cancer and just had another surgery.

I am wearing... black capris, and a black and white short sleeve top.

I am creating... a shopping list for camping food.

I am going...
to be sure to make it over to my mother-in-law's in the next few days to pick some of the beautiful cherries that are ready on her tree.

I am reading... Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

I am hoping...
that my daughter will get the job that she applied for at a local vet clinic.  She really needs to move on from her current job to something bigger and better and this would be such a great opportunity for her.

I am looking forward to...
camping.  We have been working way too hard around here and really need some leisure time.

I am hearing...
my husband and son walking around on the roof.  They are doing some repairs on our chimney before we have the house re-roofed in August.

Around the house...
I have been purging and selling more school books and cleaning shelves for next school year.  I also cleaned a bunch of old clothes out of my closet awhile ago.  It felt very good to let go of some things that I had been hanging onto that don't even fit, or look very good on me.

One of my favorite things... when my husband has my son working outside with him on something.  There is so much "man stuff" to be learned and I love it when my husband teaches all these things to the boy.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Picking blueberries (for pay), friends over to celebrate Boyson's 13th birthday, a Girl's Night Out for my daughter's Mary Kay business, and a graduation party for my niece.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

I put sunflower seeds in one of our bird feeders last week.  Look who was stealing them this morning!
