This statue sits on my kitchen window sill. Tonight, Boyson bumped it and it fell into the sink and Jesus' hand broke off. At first we couldn't find the hand as we carefully looked through all the dirty dishes in the sink, but then it fell out of the dishrag. So now we will have to glue it.

I have a small St. Joseph statue that is missing a hand.

My grandmother buried the statue back in 1995 when she was trying to sell her house; it never sat well with her, burying the statue and all. So after 2 days she dug it back up.

When she did that the hand was missing. She has no idea where it went....

I am sorry about your statue, but glad that you will be able to glue it!

It is a week for broken statues. Ruth (one the contributors at Catholic Cuisine) lost her Our Lady of Fatima Statue this week. Then, earlier today, my boys were playing with a big exercise ball in the house, which they ARE NOT suppose to play with -- in my bedroom no less -- and knocked over my *favorite* statue of St. Therese which was a gift from my hubby. It just broke the flowers and her finger, but I cried... =( It has just been one of those sorts of days...

Ok, that's hilarious, maybe inappropriate for me to say so, but it is. I looked and looked, and then realized his hand was gone. What's funny is that the robe seems proportionate, like the statue could have been made without a hand at all.
